The Cost of a Chesterton Education

Chesterton Academy of the Sacred Heart is committed to keeping tuition affordable for our families, and we view this as central to our pro-life mission. The actual cost to educate each student exceeds tuition charged. Each family is expected to help with fundraising to cover the balance of the costs in the budget.

  • Tuition for the 2024-25 academic year is $6,450 per student with an additional $400 book and supply fee. This does not include uniforms or choir attire.

  • All tuition will be collected using TADS, a 3rd party tuition and billing school management system. There are 3 payment plans to choose from.

One Payment: Payment due Aug 1, 5, 10, or 15. TADS charges a $20 fee per family per year for administering this payment plan.

Two Payments: First payment due Aug 1, 5, 10, or 15. Second payment due on that same date in January 2025. TADS charges a $20 fee per family per year for administering this payment plan.

Ten Payments: First Payment due Aug 1, 5, 10, or 15, with monthly payments continuing through May 2025. TADS charges a $55 fee per family per year for administering this payment plan

The full book fee of $400 is collected with the August payment under all installment plans. The deposit paid upon enrollment will be credited against the August payment due.

Each transaction processed by TADS will also incur a processing fee as follows: ACH processing fee: 0.3% of the total transaction amount with a minimum transaction fee of $3 dollar and a maximum transaction fee of $7. Credit card processing fee: 3% of your transaction amount.

Note: Tuition must be paid in full by the end of each school year before progressing to the next grade or before any transcripts are released.

  • Through fundraising efforts, we strive to make financial aid available to families with demonstrated need.

Financial aid applications are processed by TADS, a 3rd party tuition and billing school management system. Using their system for financial aid applications streamlines the data gathering process and makes the evaluation process more objective. TADS has developed a system of formulas to help schools determine need and to distribute available funds. Award amounts will be determined based on the recommendation from TADS and the availability of scholarship funds.

Please note that there is a $50 application fee payable to TADS that will be due upon submitting a financial aid application. All personal information submitted in the application will be kept confidential. To apply for financial aid, please contact office@chestertonpeoria.org.

Chesterton Academy students are also eligible for the John Lancaster Spalding Scholarships for financial aid. Please apply for this on the CDOP website. (Catholic Diocese of Peoria Financial Assistance - Catholic Diocese of Peoria (cdop.org)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • “Truth, Goodness and Beauty.” A classical education seeks to fulfill each of these precepts. The study of Theology, as well as Church teaching will further inform students of Christ’s truths. Armed with the truth, students can explore history, philosophy and literature with an eye towards what is Good. Through music, sciences, drama and the arts, students will then embark on a quest to what is truly beautiful. Each tenant fulfills the others. In addition, a classical education seeks to inform and call out a student’s whole mind, without compromising the truth, something other schools simply cannot do.
